What is a Haiku?
Poets started writing haikus in English in the 1950’s and they adopted a 5-7-5 form; which means that a haiku has 3 lines, the first line is 5 syllables, the 2nd line has 7 and the final line has 3 syllables. This is generally considered a traditional English Haiku.
There are several versions of a haiku though. The traditional 5-7-5, as well as the the 2-3-2 versions 5-7-5-7-7. This site will use the traditional 5-7-5 version for most entries; although the other versions may be used as well, if needed. Since SEO can be complex sometimes, longer ones will be used sporadically. Simple topics (such as spamming) can probably be covered very succintly using 2-3-2.
